REPORTS TO: General Director and Management Committee of the South African Board of Jewish Education (SABJE)

 

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: The Head will assume responsibility for developing a Remedial School from inception by appointing relevant teachers and remedial experts, implementing relevant systems and screening potential students so that the school is ready to open in 2018. Thereafter the Head will lead the school and co-operate with other affiliated Schools so that it transitions pupils back to mainstream and becomes recognised as a successful, highly regarded remedial school which meets the needs of the community

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

•An unblemished career record which displays a passion and interest in remedial intervention

•A passion and interest in remedial intervention

•Thorough knowledge of the standards and requirements for remedial school education

•Be at the forefront of current trends and best practices in remedial education

•Must have had school management experience and interacted with parents and students

•Experience as a successful and well respected Head of Primary School may also be considered

•An established and effective network in education

QUALIFICATIONS:

A well-qualified and experienced teacher, with a post-graduate remedial qualification and SACE registration
