JOB LOCATION: Johannesburg

REPORTS TO: Chairman of the Board of Directors, South Africa

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: Assume responsibility and authority for the effective leadership and profitable management of the Group so as to ensure its economic and social viability and sustainability and to optimise and balance the value that accrues to the Group's stakeholders over the immediate, medium and long term

GROUP BACKGROUND: Construction Group

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Significant experience in a leadership role for a multi-disciplined group as the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director or a strong second-in-command
  • Ability to manage across a diverse set of businesses and multiple geographies as well as awareness of cultural differences and varying legal/regulatory environments
  • Experience of working in a multinational, multi-segment, environment with matrix reporting structure
  • Excellent communication ability, both verbal andwritten

KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Restore credibility with external stakeholders, i.e., government, stakeholders and customers
  • Turnaround the construction and engineering business units from a loss situation
  • Increase business in the rest of Africa where thereare massive infrastructure backlogs
  • Review asset deployment and returns, and shape the future portfolio of the Group
