Company Background:.

The company is a leading supplier of road building equipment and a major supplier of crushing and screening equipment. The company has dealerships in a number of African countries and also provides customers with after-sales service.

Position Summary:

To assume responsibility and accountability for the management, leadership and direction of the company with specific emphasis on: developing the company in South Africa into the leading supplier of road building equipment and a major supplier of crushing and screening equipment; managing and developing dealerships in other countries in Africa; directing, managing and developing the marketing, sales, technical services and distribution functions and ensuring the highest levels of customer service in order to achieve budgeted sales, targeted profits and return on net assets.

Key Attributes Required:

  • Must have an engineering degree with ideally a post-graduate commercial or business qualification
  • At least 15 years post qualifying experience and must currently be the Managing Director or Head of Sales or Head of Service of a reputed dealership or subsidiary of a capital construction equipment manufacturer
  • Must have been responsible for achieving annual sales revenues of at least R100 million and have successfully managed a sales / service team of at least twenty people
  • Experience in direct sales and/or distributor sales
  • An understanding of service and/or hands on service experience
  • A track record of success in growing market share
  • Should ideally have had profit and loss responsibility
