SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Responsibility and authority for the management of the finance, administration and IT departments of the company. 

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

The company is the South African subsidiary of a multi-national fast moving consumer goods manufacturer.

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • A Bachelor degree in accounting or finance
  • At least twelve years post qualifying experience and should currently be the Financial Manager for a similar size company or division
  • Experience in a multi-national manufacturer
  • A thorough understanding of manufacturing costing systems and product profitability systems and how they fit into the overall accounting system

KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • To ensure that realistic and challenging budgets for resources, costs, cash flow and capital expenditure are agreed and implemented
  • Planning for and pursuit of strategic goals such as order intake, sales, Earnings before Interest and Tax (EBIT) and EBITDA, as well as cash flow and working capital management
  • To provide business and financial support to the Managing Director and cross-functional teams, such as Sales and Marketing; becoming involved in operational issues and guiding management where appropriate
  • To successfully lead and manage the Finance Team
  • Ensuring that the relevant financial reports are timeously and accurately produced in compliance with accounting reporting requirements according to the generally accepted code of practice, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as good Corporate Governance
  • Contributing towards developing and implementing the strategic goals for profitable growth and development
  • To keep the Directors and management team continually aware of the financial state of the operations and give advance warning of any situations which might require corrective action
  • To ensure compliance at all times with relevant Company Law, Taxation Law, Accounting Standards and South African Reserve Bank requirements
