POSITION: Head of Transformation Delivery

JOB LOCATION: Johannesburg

REPORTS TO: Head of BusinessTransformation

TOTAL STAFF RESPONSIBILITY: Variable,depending on the number of projects

SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: To be accountable for the delivery of a portfolio of transformational programmes within South Africa and across Africa, through a small but high quality team of project and programme managers and analysts. To build and grow that team as required.

GROUP BACKGROUND: The Company has operations in various African countries and offers retail, commercial and corporate banking services to its clients.


  • Degree – preferably in Business/ Commerce or Engineering
  • Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2,PMBOK etc.)
  • At least ten years’ experience of Transformation Delivery, leading and driving change, Programme Management.
  • At least ten years’ experience in managing large scale transformation projects which include people, process and system change would be advantageous – ideally gained operating in a majorfinancial institution or other large and complex corporate organisation


  • Transformation Delivery - Work with business owners to identify the opportunity, scope and plan the initiatives, develop the business cases
  • Contribute significantly to the debate onsolutions, approaches, strategies to effect transformational change across theorganisation
  • Manage and be accountable for Pan-Africanprogrammes including the resources, budget and deliverables
  • Build a quality team who are skilled in recognisedproject and programme methodology
  • Drive delivery performance through quality metrics and clear communications
  • Manage a number of key stakeholders at senior level
  • Work with the Transformation Project Management Office (PMO) and Change Management specialists to provide a coordinated,quality delivery service to the organisation
