Total Staff Responsibility: Up to 30 people

Company Background: The company is a global market leader in the supply of flour production plants, pasta and chocolate production lines, animal feed manufacturing installations, and aluminum die casting systems. The core technologies of the Group are in the field of mechanical and thermal process engineering and the Group operates in over 140 countries worldwide.

 

Position Summary: Responsibility and authority for all regional HR processes in the territory of Sub-Saharan Africa, in close cooperation with the regional head and the Group’s HR function to establish alignment with the Group’s directives, operative goals, strategy and in compliance with all relevant labour legislation.

 Key Responsibilities:  

  • Assisting and consulting line management in organizational development and participating in strategy formulation and business planning as a member of the Executive Committee  
  • Formulating strategies, policies and programmes that will effectively attract, retain and develop employees across the functions in the Sub-Saharan region at all levels  
  • Creating a performance driven culture by implementing the Group’s Performance Management System, supporting programs and maintaining adequate HR Policies & Procedures  
  • Liaising and aligning actions with Head of International HR  
  • Design and implement a BBBEEE plan that will ensure annual improvement/increase of levels  
  • Manage corporate services / facility management including inter alia:

 Key Attributes:  

  • 8-10 years working experience in the HR function including employment with an international company preferably in the Business to Business industrial sector  
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (degree or diploma) is preferred but not essential  
  • Minimum 3 years in a generalist HR management role, with proven Executive management exposure linked to proven leadership experience  
  • Experience in building/facility management  
  • English; with African languages (added advantage)  
  • In depth know how of “best of class” HR processes including extensive know how of SA labour law and other African labour laws  
  • Flexibility and ability to manage functional reporting lines in the structure of an international Group (matrix)  
  • Ability to travel
