POSITION: International Mobility Specialist

REPORTS TO: Head of International Mobility


SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: Responsible for providing specialist advice on all aspects of the international assignment process, policy and practices to key stakeholders across the business; to serve as the point of contact for moves in and out of a specified region and have accountability for managing related mobility programs; to manage all practical aspects of moves into South Africa, including the rest of Africa through working with key vendors and suppliers.

GROUP BACKGROUND: The group is a major listed global financial services provider engaged in retail banking,corporate and investment banking and wealth management with an extensive international presence in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia


  • A minimum of five years relevant industry experience managing a small expatriate population
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • A further qualification in Tax or Immigration will be an advantage


  • To proactively assist HR Business Partners in managing their international employee population.
  • To advise on the most suitable assignment options including running costs of various scenarios and be able to indentify and determine the best course of action in the case of exceptions to the International Mobility policy.
  • To assist in the development and improvement of programs, policies and administration of the mobility process to best meet business needs.
  • Manage and coordinate day-to-day operations and relationships with external vendors.
  • Apply good specialist and working knowledge of SA immigration requirements and work permit processes to ensure the smooth running of the process.
  • Regular training with HR Business Partners to ensure they understand immigration changes and the impact this will have on the business.
  • Overseeing all aspects of the immigration process in conjunction with the immigration providers and provide guidance and advice to the business regarding the best immigration options and processes.
  • Apply consistency and fairness in the application of the Company's International Mobility policies and practices.
