POSITION SUMMARY:
Assume responsibility and accountability for delivering stretch volume, net sales revenue and in-store presence (distribution, pricing, shelving, promotion and merchandising) in all outlets and growing market share in all stores with particular emphasis on: developing the commercial strategy and planning team; developing and enforcing the sales strategy and planning for the commercial organisation and animating in-store execution.
KEY ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
- At least twelve years category management experience, ten of which must have been in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry
- Must have had at least two years experience in a managerial position
- Direct customer responsibility and experience is essential
- Must have had Head Office based experience in sales planning and trade marketing
- Should have expertise in multiple sales decision tools such as Nielson and Synovate
KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Determine, in conjunction with the Commercial Director, the strategic vision, objectives and operating criteria for the Commercial Strategy and Planning function for the immediate, medium and long term
- Develop a deep understanding of shopper behaviour to maximise shopper preference during the "path to purchase"
- Develop compelling long-term category vision and strategy for the entire product portfolio to be translated to and executed by the field sales force
- Own and develop the company's category management capability toolbox
- Increase the company's influence and partnerships at leading retailers
- Develop the Category Management Team
- Continually evaluate the organisational structure and processes to ensure a "best in class" category management function
- Enable the organisation to develop Shopper-Centric category sales plans
- Drive and structure key Business Information Systems to inform and provide feedback on sales planning
