Building Products Organisation


Company Background:

South African Subsidiary of a Global Building Products Organisation. The organisation has multiple, geographically dispersed, manufacturing operations in South Africa and an annual turnover in the region of R200 million.


Job Summary: Job

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Sales Commercial Director will have a sales team of 60 people under his/her control and will be responsible for optimising the commercial performance of the organisation.


Key areas of activity:

  • Providing strategic and business leadership in the creation, development and implementation of sales and commercial strategies
  • Improving the business' position at the forefront of the industry and enhancing market share to ensure outstanding returns on investment

Key Attributes Required:

  • A degree in Business Management or Commerce
  • At least five to eight years experience in positions with increasing levels of responsibility in commercial management and strategic business plan development, preferably gained in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Financially literate and commercially astute with an understanding of the dynamics of the South African marketplace
  • Strong business acumen with a strategic approach and customer focused with a track record of sales success
  • Dynamic and energetic with excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
  • An analytical thinker and problem solver who is able to interpret and implement company policy frameworks
  • Preference will be given to an HDSA candidate
