POSITION: Chief Financial Officer

 NATURE OF BUSINESS: Multi-National: Machinery Support & Service

 JOB LOCATION: Johannesburg




  • Administrative, financial and risk management operations of the company (includes the development of a financial strategy, metrics tied to that strategy and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve the company’s assets and report accurate financial results)

  • Company secretarial functions, legal matters, supply chain and the IT department

  • Provide cost control and measurement and assist in the commercial aspects of managing the business

  • Total Staff Responsibility: 500 employees

  • Financial Responsibility:    R1 billion



  • Preference will be given to CA qualification although similar professional qualifications will be considered

  • Additional post graduate qualifications would be desirable

  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible financial experience for a major company or division of a large corporation with operating turnover in excess of R700 million (with at least 5 years in a senior management role)

  • Multi-national company experience would be preferable especially with a strong reporting record

  • Experience in the management of IT, Supply Chain and company secretarial functions is important

  • Sound knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, King 3 Report, and relevant legislation (Tax, Company, Property, Insurance Law)

  • Good understanding of audit and risk assessment processes and principles

  • Must have service company experience and be able to demonstrate cost management achievements

  • Should have experience in partnering with, and adding commercial value to, an executive team and have a high level of written and oral communication skills
