POSITION: Divisional Managing Executive



NATURE OF BUSINESS: Major FMCG Organisation



JOB LOCATION: Cape Town



REPORTS TO: Group Chief Executive Officer



TOTAL STAFF RESPONSIBILITY: In excess of 900 people



SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY: Responsibility and authority for the effective leadership and profitable management of the Division and originate branding, marketing and sales strategies to actively grow market share and achieve the targets set for this division in an efficient and profitable manner





KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

• Ideally qualified with a Bachelors degree in a related field (An MBA would be an advantage)

• Must have had at least ten years senior management position with exposure at Executive Committee level

• Be able to demonstrate the management of a complex environment

• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to design and sustain brand building strategies supported by a co-ordinated marketing and sales effort

• Food industry and/or FMCG experience a big advantage

• Must have managed an operational business with a turnover of at least R500m

• Must understand how to formulate and execute business strategies

• Must have demonstrated an ability to establish robust systems and controls and build and lead a performing team



KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Assume responsibility for the effective leadership and management of the position without alienating the existing staff and rapidly assume managerial responsibility and authority of the role

• Originate branding, marketing and sales strategies to actively grow market share and achieve the targets set for this division in an efficient and profitable manner.

• Specifically spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.

• Must pro-actively manage the financial performance of the division to meet group targets.

• Mentor direct reports to cultivate skills and to increase consciousness of the interrelationship between each department.

• Remain knowledgeable of both national and international market and industry trends.

• Establish key performance indicators for management of the division.

• Assume responsibility for capital planning and expenditures.

• Establish training, short and long-term goals for the division.

• Gather and analyze client trends to assist in developing an overall corporate strategy.

• Engender a style of management that encourages an ethos of excellence and a mindset of continuous improvement
