Company Background:

The group is a major listed global financial services provider engaged in retail banking, corporate and investment banking and wealth management with an extensive international presence in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia.

 

 

Position Summary:

The Head of Reward, Africa, will report directly to the Head of Reward and Performance, Africa, and be responsible for integrating, building and leading the Africa Reward Team. The incumbent will take the lead in all compensation decision making issues for the Africa division; define Reward strategy, development and execution; and contribute to the development and implementation of the Group’s Reward initiatives which support the Group’s overall strategy. The incumbent will be required to work with the Group’s functional heads, overseeing Reward operations; Reward governance and analytics; Executive Reward Services; Pensions and Benefits; and Global Mobility for Africa.

 

 

Key Attributes Required:

 

  • Must have a degree, ideally in an analytical or business related discipline.
  • A further professional qualification (e.g. accountancy, tax, legal) will be advantageous.
  • Must have significant management and leadership experience in an executive Human Resources or Reward role with extensive experience of working across diverse and complex business units.
  • Must have knowledge of compensation policies and practices within the financial services industry.
  • Must have knowledge of executive reward.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive project management, analytical and negotiation skills; be confident and credible in dealing with, presenting to, and influencing senior stakeholders in the Group; and in dealing effectively and sensitively with the dynamics inherent in large, diverse organisations.
  • The ideal candidate will be performance driven and results orientated; business focused and customer aware; a collaborative team player; committed to developing self and others; able to exercise good judgement; able to adapt to changing business priorities and responsibilities; a creative problem solver, able to think outside the box.
