POSITION: Strategic Accounts Manager, Africa


NATURE OF BUSINESS: Manufacturer and Supplier to the Mining Industry


The Strategic Accounts Manager, Africa will be responsible for effectively establishing, maintaining and expanding partnerships with customers, thus achieving the sales quota and assigned strategic account objectives. As a representative of the entire range of the Company’s Products and Services, the Strategic Accounts Manager, Africa would lead the customer account planning cycle and ensure that the customers’ needs and expectations are communicated back to business to ensure that the Company becomes a first choice service provider.


  • Relevant commercial or technical tertiary qualification

  • An MBA or business qualification would be an advantage

  • At least ten years’ experience gained in strategic account management, business development, sales, and marketing of industrial products to the mining sector

  • Should have a strong network of mining contacts across Sub-Saharan Africa and knowledge of the mining sector, its participants and requirements

  • Good understanding of typical mining operations and/or mining consumables and solutions, and the associated regulatory legislation, with a good knowledge base of commodities, competitors and key players within the mining services industry

  • Must understand how to formulate and execute business strategies

  • Should have experience in partnering with an executive team and have a high level of written and oral communication skills

  • Essential to have strong Pan African experience

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, with a track record with tangible achievements

  • Strong in customer service principles. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
