Position Summary:
To lead the development and implementation of sophisticated and integrated funding and financial risk management solutions in the treasury environment.
Provide strategic leadership to ensure organisation-wide integration of, reporting and quantification of the risk exposures facing the organisation and the successful implementation of the recommended mitigation strategies in the following risk areas:
- Liquidity Risk (funding - short and long term), foreign exchange rates
- Commodities and Interest Rates
- Operational Risk in the form of contracted covenants
Contribute to the general management of the Treasury Department at the most senior level. This includes:
- Contributing to the development of the organisation's Treasury strategy and targets
- Strategically managing business and financial plans for the funding and financial risk management function
- Managing predominantly specialised staff
- Deputising for the Head of Treasury
Key Attributes Required:
Must have a financial degree; a CA (SA) or MBA would be advantageous.
Must have at least 10 years experience at senior management level in a Treasury Division of a major Industrial Organisation or in the Corporate Banking/Treasury Division of a Financial Services Organisation.
Must have managed a staff complement of at least 10 people and should have actively participated in the financial markets (trading/funding) and should, ideally, have managed a portfolio.
Must have an excellent knowledge of financial markets and regulation thereof and have a comprehensive understanding of financial market risks.
