Company Background:

The investment holding organisation is involved in the financial services sector in South Africa and several other countries.

Position Summary:

• Full accountability and responsibility for the sound Financial Management of the Organisation and subsidiaries
• Close working relationship with the Financial Managers/Directors of the subsidiary organisations

Key Attributes Required:

• Must be a Chartered Accountant. A Master of Business Administration degree and a Tax qualification would be an added advantage
• At least ten years post-qualifying experience with a minimum of five years in the primary or secondary role within the financial function of a large listed organisation, with multiple operations, together with evidence of financial innovation and proven success
• Should ideally have worked in the financial services sector and have a thorough understanding of Accounting Standards such as GAAP and IFRS and other relevant banking and credit legislative frameworks as well as market risk dynamics and treasury expertise
• The ability to translate business strategy into actionable financial plans
• Demonstrable expertise in treasury activities, mergers, acquisitions and disposals, international financing, financial planning, managing relationships with banks locally and off-shore, providing high standards of financial control and effective management of working capital
• Familiarity with evolving global financial policies and procedures related to raising capital, foreign exchange dealings, commercial, tax and legal matters
• Able to deliver under pressure
