Schools' Executive Committee
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:
R200 000 Travel & Resources Budget
INDIRECT / DIRECT SUBORDINATES:
Heads of Departments and Maths Teachers
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assume responsibility for curriculum design and the ensuring that every teacher through the appropriate interaction, teaches the curriculum in the best and most effective manner
KEY ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

Appropriate Mathematics qualification

At least 10 to 15 years post qualifying experience

Must have been in a role of senior educational institution and head of department

Relevant mathematics experience across grades is essential together with an excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum Statement

Should be able to produce a portfolio that shows evidence of teacher training and mentoring

Must be able to conduct teacher appraisals with the ability to do large group teaching
-
Essential to have exposure to international benchmarking and best practice

Must be a qualified assessor and moderator

Excellent researching and IT skills

Ability to do cross curricula work

Must have excellent skills at integrating technology into teaching
