CURRENT GENERAL MANAGEMENT EXECUTIVE VACANCY

 

COMPANY BACKGROUND:

Multinational organisation providing professional, critical, medical logistical services in South Africa.

 

LOCATION:

Johannesburg, South Africa

 

REPORTS TO:

Regional Managing Director, Southern Africa

 

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Turnover of ± R300 million

 

TOTAL STAFF RESPONSIBILITY:

± 150 people

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsibility and authority for the successful overall operating and financial performance of the business in South Africa. Providing effective leadership to the management team to develop and grow the business so as to achieve a return on capital employed and margins on sales which are in line with group objectives, with particular emphasis on business development activities.

 

KEY ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration degree
  • A minimum of four to six years experience with full bottom line responsibility for a service business with an annual turnover in excess of R150 million and employing more than 70 people
  • Experience of working in South Africa and reporting within a matrix structure
  • The ideal candidate will have had a successful expatriation experience and be a “global citizen” and have achieved success in working in a cross-border, matrix structure
  • Has directly managed Sales and Marketing, Human Resources, Operations and Finance teams
  • Strong track record in business development, ideally in the service industry providing and implementing complex B2B solutions to multinational companies in a fast moving, global 24/7 environment, in the IT, logistics, Human Resources outsourcing, and professional business services sectors
  • Successful history of building, mentoring, motivating and leading a high calibre team
