SUMMARY OF EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY:

Assume responsibility and authority for delivering and developing integrated supply chain operations to achieve performance targets and increase productivity. The scope of the role includes:

  • Planning: forecasting and interfacing with the sales, marketing and finance divisions; raw material procurement planning, including milk planning; replenishment planning to physical network
  • Physical Distribution: raw material and finished product warehouses; third party logistics provider management and exports logistics

KEY EXECUTIVE ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

 

  • Must have had extensive experience in demand management and sales and operations planning in an FMCG company
  • Should ideally have had experience in managing the physical distribution of products including refrigeration/cold chain
  • Experience in a company that manufactures fresh products would be advantageous (familiar with hour/day turn around versus week/month)
  • Must have managed a staff complement of at least 40 people
  • Should have a working knowledge of ediEnterprise logistics software; Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR) business practice; e-procurement; eFulfillment and SAP

       

       

       

       

    KEY JOB PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    Planning:  

    Forecasting and interfacing with Sales/Marketing and Finance

    Production scheduling/planning

    Raw material procurement planning, including milk planning

    Replenishment planning to physical network

     

    Physical distribution:

    Raw materials and finished produce warehouses, third party logistics provider management and exports logistics

     

    Improve Supply Chain performance with particular emphasis on the following performance indicators:

    Customer Service Levels

    Forecast Accuracy

    Inventory Levels

    Plant Service Level/Factory Efficiencies

     

    Obsolescence:

    Freshness/product losses from expiry

    Logistics Costs

    Manage Supply Chain Operations costs and budget

    Ensure excellent communication and build a team based approach within the Supply Chain function and throughout the company to deliver results

     

    Manage the Supply Chain operations team

     

    Build effective relationships with key customers/suppliers (internal and external) to drive growth and innovation through collaboration

     

    Drive the Sales and Operations planning meetings to improve Supply Chain productivity

     

    Participate with the operations team on Company projects including SAP, the Distribution Network and Order to Cash
