Deadly Delight 

While diving on the sea water intake pipe off Nuweiba in the Red Seathis Lion fish showed a swirl of aggression as it hovered in front of thecolourful soft corals growing on the pipe. The sharp poison spines, similar tohypodermic needles filled with poison, are clearly seen with white fin fringesas it pirouetted.

Lion fish “devil fire fish”  Pterois miles

Pterois is a venomous marine fish found mostly in the Indo-Pacific.Pterois has warning coloration with red, white, creamy, or black bands, showypectoral fins and venomous spiky fin rays. They are excellent predators andpoisonous to fishermen and divers. In humans, venom can cause temporaryparalysis of the limbs, heart failure and even death. It aggressively preys onsmall fish and can be found on coral reefs down to 50 m.
